I have to disagree about your review of iPod/iTunes. I think the main reasons behind the iPod success is how easy it is for the average user to manage it. It completely abstracts the whole MP3 concept for the end user. As an end user you don't need to know anything other than
1) insert CD
2) press import
3) plug iPod into computer.
It makes the whole digital music experience seamless for the end user, and I think that's a BIG part of it. Granted, the sexiness of the device is part of it too, but it wouldn't have succeeded on that alone.
